Underwater is a 2020 American science fiction action horror film directed by William Eubank.[4] The film stars Kristen Stewart, Vincent Cassel, Jessica Henwick, John Gallagher Jr., Mamoudou Athie, and T.J. Miller.[5]
Underwater follows a group of workers at a drilling facility at the bottom of the ocean who encounter hostile creatures after an earthquake destroys the facility. The film was released in the United States on January 10, 2020, by 20th Century Fox; it was the last film under the Fox name before the studio's rebranding as 20th Century Studios on January 17.[6] It received mixed reviews from critics and was a box office bomb, grossing $40 million worldwide against a production budget of $50–65 million.[1][7][8]
