The United Nations Security Council Resolution 2254 was unanimously adopted on 18 December 2015. It calls for a ceasefire and political settlement in Syria.[2] This document describes the roadmap for Syria's political transition.[3] As of 2024, no real progress has been made to implement the resolution.[4] The negotiations have reached a stalemate due to the inability to agree on a venue for the talks, following their previous occurrence in Geneva as a result of Russia's strained relations with the host nation.
