His first appearance is in episode number 4771, originally broadcast in the United Kingdom on 26 December 2013. In December 2017, it was reported that Reilly had filmed the character's departure from the series.
Johnny is the son of Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright).
