I was born and grew up in Upstate New York. I attended a public high school (Fonda-Fultonville Central School), having every intention of going to college and becoming a teacher. However, with the advent of the the war in Iraq, I chose to join the United States Marine Corps. My first unit was 3rd Battalion, 11th Marines, based at MCAGCC Twentynine Palms, CA. We were deployed (almost right after I joined) to Ar Rumadi, Iraq for 7 months, where I took part in the Battle of Ramadi and Operation Vigilant Resolve as a mobile CASEVAC detachment for the 1st Marine Division in Fallujah. A year after returning home, I deployed as part of the Unit Deployment Program to the 3rd Battalion 12th Marines in Okinawa, Japan. After six months there, I returned to the States and moved into an apartment with my then-fiancee, Ashley. We got married August 26, 2006. I soon re-enlisted and recieved a transfer to Headquarters, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, at MCAS Cherry Point, NC. Today, I work in the G-4 at 2MAW. I recently deployed again, but this time to Al Asad Airbase.
What does my username mean? I was barely a teenager when my brother Pat acquired a dial-up modem and introduced the family to the magical internet. I decided to get an email account, and Hotmail was brand new, so I went with them. In trying to choose an address, I decided that my school nickname "bobcat" (a play on my name Bob) would be a good choice, but alas, it was taken, and Hotmail recommended that I add a number to the end. Of course, "bobcat13" and "bobcat013" were also taken, but "0013" seemed to be the suffix that worked. After a few years, I chose to rid myself of that spam-hole, and wanted a new address. I was infatuated with the Final Fantasy series, so I chose the name Bahamut and added the familiar "0013" suffix. It's been my default username ever since. I am aware that on some French language video game communities, there is another Bahamut0013 (usually with a capital B), but this individual is unrelated to me (I can't speak French).
