Edited and published a postal Diplomacy 'zine, THE SHOGUN'S SWORD, 1979-83. Designed, built, and edited the Diplomatic Corps website, including research on Diplomacy groups in 15 countries, 1999-2004. Attended close to one hundred game conventions ranging from the World Boardgaming Championships to small housecons, 1981-present. I've learned thirty to fifty new strategy games per year in recent years.
Wrote weekly columns (in partnership with my late father Bill, then alone) for Gater Racing News, 1977-1984, and briefly for Speedway Scene. Worked at one-third-mile dirt Penn Can Speedway (Susquehanna, Pennsylvania) as Chief or Assistant Handicapper and Chief or Assistant Scorer, 1977-84. Wrote race-results articles sent by Penn Can Speedway to daily newspapers and weekly trade papers, 1979-80. Worked at half-mile asphalt Shangri-La Speedway in handicapping or scoring 1979-86 as noted below. Worked at one-third-mile dirt Afton Speedway (Afton, New York) as Chief or Assistant Handicapper and Chief Scorer, 1989-90. Worked at one-eighth-mile dirt Starlite Speedway (Trumansburg, New York) as Chief Scorer and trained scorers, 1999. Worked as Scorer for special events at Martinsville Speedway, Chemung Speedrome, White Lake Speedway, and Moc-A-Tek Speedway, 1978-83.
