Kibera Film School is a film school based in Kibera, the largest shantytown in Africa. It is an initiative of Hot Sun Foundation and Hot Sun Films, which caters specifically for the slum youth. The film school started in August 2009. The first trainees were 10, drawn from the slum, regardless of their education background. The criteria was an interest in film and ability to read and understand English.
