Sanzkrit Sanzkrit are a four piece indie-rock band from Ireland. The band is made up of founding members Dave Marron (singer/guitarist) and Paric Duffy (Drums) together with Darren Clarke (guitar) and Paul Markey (bass).
Sanzkrit released their debut album "After the Wedding" worldwide through the Irish label "House of Strange Vinyl" in October of 2009. In March 2011, Sanzkrit released "Midweek Blues" the first single from the band's as yet untitled second album which will be released in spring 2012.
Radio
The album spawned the radio hits Futila, Talk of the Town, Carnivore and Leave the lights on. The four singles received heavy airplay on major radio staions in Ireland such as RTE1, 2fm and Today Fm helping the band become one of the highest selling independant artists in Ireland in 2009. The videos for the singles Futila and Talk of the Town garnered global attention for the band on youtube, thus inreasing radio coverage. The band have played live and have been interviewed on The Tommy and Hector Show on 2fm, aswell as doing an exclusive live session for Dan Hegarty's show on the same channel. RTE1's Sean Rocks interviewed the band for his Arena Arts Show which included a three song live set recorded exclusively for the show. Sanzkrit feature regularly on smaller stations suxh as Phantom FM, i-105-107, Limerick Live, Northern Sound, LMFM and Dundalk FM.
Live Shows & Festivals
Since Sanzkrit's inception in 1999, the quartet have performed at festivals such as Electric Picnic, Le Cheile, Hard Working Class Heroes, Temple House Music Festival and Vantastival 2010 & 2011.
Sanzkrit are noted for high energy passionate live shows. They tour regularly and extensively to large audiences in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Although the band normally headline these shows, they also support other bands on occasion. Amongst these bands Sanzkrit have played with are Collapsing Cities, The Coronas, Delorentos, Fighting With Wire, And so I watch you from afar, Berkeley, The Flaws, Jetplane Landing, Ham Sandwich, The Immediate, Giveamanakick, LaFaro, Ham Sandwich and The Blizzards.
