From 2002 to 2006, I edited on Wikipedia as user bcrowell, but I intentionally munged my password to that account when I decided that WP was heading in a direction that I didn't like. This account is one I log in to when I need to do something that I'm blocked from doing as an anonymous user. I no longer put much time or effort into WP, although I do correct typos, etc., as an anon.
From 2007 to 2022, I continued to occasionally contribute to WP. I worked on the Mount San Antonio article, and also put some effort into Ed Royce, which had been a self-promotional page written by the congressman's wife. I also contributed some material such as photos and scientific diagrams, which I did while logged in as Fashionslide, since you can't upload files as an anonymous user. However, I decided in 2022 that WP had continued to sink even further into dysfunction, becoming such an awful place that I didn't want to do even this level of intermittent contribution. The site has been ruined by crazy, compulsive, hostile people who do damage out of proportion to their numbers. I'm now munging the password to this account as well, so that I won't be tempted in the future to do anything more than fixing the occasional dangling modifier as an anonymous editor.
