Hardcore Pop also known as Popcore is a subgenre of Hardcore Punk that originated in the United States in the early 2000s. Hardcore Pop is characterized by mostly melodic singing with screaming in some songs and heavy guitars and fast tempos, as opposed to constant yelling. Hardcore Pop songs are typically about depressing topics. Songs without screaming or much screaming and are more mainstream are often referred to as "Popcore". Any soft popcore songs are characterized by emotionally-charged lyrics.
