Hi, hello, hi. I'm Julie.
I started editing Wikipedia in around 2005. I was working at E!, and I used the Wikipedia article on Ludacris to prepare for an interview with him. I think I called him by his nickname, which, according to the article, was Lil' Miss LudaPie. He threw his mic at me and stomped off set. (That was not actually what happened, but you get the gist; I did an interview based on an inaccurate Wikipedia article and subsequently started editing.)
I'm mostly an inclusionist. In 2023 I took an article to AfD for the second time in nine years, and that was because the only evidence of the subject's existence is an article that says the only evidence of the subject's existence is a Wikipedia article. Which, you have to admit, is a strong argument for deletion.
I've happily taught a handful of people how to contribute to Wikipedia IRL, and more than a handful online. I am a co-founder of Wikimedians of Los Angeles and I have failed miserably in my quest to create a vibrant user group.
I have some barnstars!! I have too many userboxes, but not as many as I would if I didn't have some self-control.
I have press! Most of it is about how much I hate the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but some is about Wikipedia:
Some is about my glorious past:
Some has my byline:

Another cake, Wikipedia Day LA 2024

More cakes, Wikipedia Day LA 2019
