Marie Gomez (actress)
Marie Gomez enjoyed a short, yet relatively successful career as an actress during the 1960's.
She began by singing and dancing on Broadway and taking small parts in US TV series.
Her first role in a major film was playing the bold and coquettish 'Chiquitta' in 'The Professionals' (1966).
Further TV work ensued, most notably in 'The High Chaparral' and she starred in two other films: 'Daring Game (1968) and 'Barquero' (1970) - her swansong.
Quite why her career was so short and unprolific is a mystery: she was a capable actress with great screen presence. Marie's ability, humour and allure outstripped that of many actresses of the time and her beauty was described as 'Having a face for Vogue and a body for 'Playboy'!
Post acting, Marie became involved with various charity and relief projects - providing food and clothing for orphans in Mexico.
