This essay is a running document; I update and refine it frequently.
I edit the "lazy around" (a grammatical fault) out of Wikipedia articles.
If you don't like the way I've reworded a given article, write it another way. But if you revert it to the lazy around, I'll be back.
The most common example of this error is the expression "based around", as in x "Darwinian evolution is based around natural selection."
There are other misuses of the word "around" as well.
In my work to improve Wikipedia I'm inspired by the great Giraffedata and his ongoing one-man campaign to expunge "comprised of" from this service.
