  • My primary Wikipedia "gripe" lately is people deleting material rather than "dealing with it".
i.e. from what I read of WP policies, issues are supposed to be tagged and then discussed?
Specifically, I have added "stub" sections to articles
to comply with WikiProject recommended formatting and organization, to research and complete,
then when I go to cut and paste what took me a while to research, I find entire sections missing - Argh!
  • My secondary Wikipedia gripes are:
  • inaccuracy,
  • reference citations with do not take you to a specific page or at a least document:
from a reference citation - it should be "obvious" for someone not familiar with the document or site to find the source information.
for instance: {{GR}} instead of a "one-click link" to the proper reference source, like {{Gnis}}.
  • I do not have an issue with "un-sourced" material (i.e. without reference citations) being posted,
they can and should be checked out by someone, if a reference source is not found, then tagged and discussed,
then either properly cited or deleted.
  • Similarly, when something controversial is pointed out, everyone needs to check and double-check their facts,
Think outside of the box, and do not just make assumptions.
