Hello, I'm LovesMacs (talk) 00:00, 18 November 2008 (UTC). I know it's a silly name but there's a story behind that. After many attempts to find a name reflecting my interests that wasn't already taken, I chose this one because I enjoy Macintosh computers. I actually enjoy other things even more, such as reading, photography, music, and traveling. I will read almost anything, but I especially like history, religion, mythology, and literature in general.
I am currently reading the novel Children of the Black Sabbath by Anne Hébert, in order to write about it here at English Wikipedia. I may well write about it over at French Wikipedia too because the article over there is not very developed.
Fomitopsis quercina is a species of mushroom in the order Polyporales. Commonly known as the oak mazegill, among other names, its specific epithet refers to the oak genus Quercus, upon which it frequently grows, causing a brown rot. It is found in most of Europe, following the pattern of oak distribution, and has also been reported in northern Africa, North America, Asia and Australia. The mushroom features pores which form a maze-like appearance. Though inedible, it can be used as a natural comb and has been the subject of chemical research. This F. quercina mushroom was photographed growing on a tree branch at De Famberhorst, a nature reserve in the town of Joure in Friesland, Netherlands. The photograph was focus-stacked from 21 separate images.

Edith Roosevelt (1861–1948; née Carow) was the second wife of President Theodore Roosevelt and the first lady of the United States from 1901 to 1909. She grew up alongside the Roosevelt family, and married Theodore Roosevelt in 1886; they had five children. She became a public figure when her husband became a war hero in the Spanish–American War and was elected governor of New York. Theodore became vice president in March 1901, and president after the assassination of William McKinley in September. Edith controlled when and how the press reported on the Roosevelts, and regulated Washington social life, organizing weekly meetings of the cabinet members' wives, and becoming the gatekeeper of who could attend formal events. Her oversight of the 1902 White House renovations and her hiring the first social secretary for a first lady, Belle Hagner, are considered enduring legacies. PersianPoetGal here, pleasure to make your acquaintance. I'm a half Persian (Iranian) female born and raised in great sunny California! I enjoy many things such as poetry (obvious of course), reading, writing, history, playing video games, filmmaking, light programming, and just making a person's day better :). I used to be active at the Windows Movie Maker Forums but now I have sort of semi-retired due to being crammed with my studies. I also contributed to "The Persian Page", a page devoted to implementing custom effects and transitions into Windows Movie Maker 2 using xml which is hosted and now fully edited by "PapaJohn" Buechler. I am an administrator (see my Request for Adminship) on the English Wikipedia and I voluntarily patrol the "Recent Changes Page". While on patrol I keep on the lookout to make sure articles are free of vandalism and abide by the Wikipedia Golden Rules :P. I also help create Wikipedia Ads for different WikiProjects, see this page for details. Believe it or not I start new articles and edit pre-existing ones every now and then! So please feel free to mercilessly edit any of my Wiki-Contributions just the same. I honestly feel there is always someone who can add a little extra ;). However, those not-so-nice enough to vandalize my page or anyone else's for that matter, it will not do you any good. Thanks for reading a little bit about me :D!
