Sebastian Edge is an English photographic artist band from Kent, South East England. He graduated from the University of Creative Arts in Maidstone and has his studio in an old Tilling Stevens bus manufacturing factory. He lives in London.
He uses an obsolete 19th Century photographic process, in conjunction with a giant-format camera he built from the wood felled by the Hurricane Emily in 1987, which was used by his father to hand-build the family home. His investigation is with his past, surroundings and the inherent meaning of the photographic image.
He has been Artist in Residence at the Centre Intermondes in La Rochelle, France as part of the La Rochelle International Film Festival, collaborating with the film maker Andrew Kotting. He has exhibited in a number of galleries and teaches at the University of Creative Arts and Westminster College.
Most recently he was requested by the English band Radiohead to create a press photo in a location in Oxford on Valentine's Day for their record 'King of Limbs'.
