Hello Everyone!

Narya the great is the name of the ring held by Gandalf in J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. It was given to him by Círdan, the shipwright upon his arrival in the havens in Middle-earth: "'Take now this ring", he said; 'for thy labors and thy cares will be heavy, but in all it will support thee and defend thee from weariness..." (P. 365 Silmarillion) This is indeed curious, for he did not give it to Saruman, the greatest of wizards, but to Gandalf. Gandalf carried it throughout his time in Middle-earth, and after the fall of Sauron, he wore it openly, but its power faded. Eventually, he went, along with Galadriel, Elrond and the ringbearers over the see and into the West to Valinor.
