I am the F Jay Taylor Endowed Chair of Communication at Louisiana Tech University. At least I will be in the fall of 2020. Currently, I hold a Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Communication, Media, and Film at the University of Calgary.
My academic work focuses on the relationship between communication technologies and culture.
I'm the author of several books, including Reverse Engineering Social Media (Temple University Press 2014) and Weaving the Dark Web (MIT Press 2018). I've also published over 2 dozen peer-reviewed journal articles. Some of my work even discusses Wikipedia. http://robertwgehl.org

Most of what I've done on Wikipedia in the past few years is minor edits for grammar, as well as adding citations here and there.
