I'm Pete Jacobsen. I signed up with Wikipedia several years ago, but have restricted myself mostly to spelling and grammar fixes. Every so often I get really brave and write a whole sentence. Let's face it - I'm not bold.
I live in Portland, Oregon, where my main volunteer activity is free bicycle repair on weekends. I'm also active in my Portland Neighborhood Association (Brentwood Darlington) and in Southeast Uplift, a coalition of 20 Neighborhood Associations.
I'm retired from 35+ years working with computers. I was a programmer back in the 60's when the president of IBM said in a speech that he thought the United States would need about 300 computers. I hope they didn't hire him for his estimation skills. --Pete Jacobsen 04:57, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
