Sep 19 | Bart Bryant | Valero Texas Open |
Bryant's win came in his 18th start. Ridings met his terms in October and was promoted to the major medical category. Kribel's extension expired in August and he became a non-member, and would not reach the PGA Tour again. Watts, Green, and Lardon received carry-overs.

One player finished inside the top 125. Browne and Morgan finished in the 126–150 range and, unsuccessful at Q School, remained in the conditional category for 2005.
The remaining players all finished outside the top 150. Levet made the Ryder Cup team and was eligible for category 10 status in 2005. Johansson received a medical extension. Wilson and Carl Paulson made it through Q School. Pride, Heinen, and Willis fell to past champion status in 2005 (for good, in Heinen's case). All three received carry-overs.
Only two past champions finished in the top 200 of the money list:
Glasson and Jim Carter made it through Q School. Simpson would never regain better status.
The following non-members finished the equivalent of top 200 on the money list, including earnings in WGCs (^ denotes those eligible for full PGA Tour membership in 2005):
Harrington, Westwood, Casey, and Poulter accepted membership for 2005. Harrington and Casey accepted STM in May, and Poulter in August. Signs point towards the Ryder and Presidents Cup exemptions only applying to players who were already PGA Tour members or STMs at the time of selection, which would be why Casey and Poulter (neither of whom cracked the non-member top 125) and Harrington were eligible for that category, while Westwood did not accept STM in 2005 and landed in the non-member top 125 category rather than the Ryder Cup category. In the brief lifespan of the Ryder and Presidents Cup exemptions, Casey and Poulter were the only non-members to land in that category without also cracking the non-member top 125.
Price made it through Q School, while Haas and Villegas did not.
Twenty-seven players not listed made it from the Nationwide Tour to the PGA Tour for 2005 (including Japan Golf Tour winner Brendan Jones; 20 via the money list, 7 via Q School). Besides Price, eleven players with no PGA Tour or Nationwide Tour status in 2004 made it through Q School (including European Tour players Brian Davis, Greg Owen, and Rob Rashell, Japan Golf Tour winner Hideto Tanihara, and Asian Tour winner Charlie Wi).
