The BYzantines Western Balken Campaign was in the early 9th century, to restore the Danube frontier, previous to the campaign, the only territory in the western balkens, controlled by the Byzantines was a few ports in Dalmatia, it was the Byzantines first major offensive since the Arab Conquests. The western Balkens was ruled by several small Kingdoms.
