Wikipedia just takes too much of my time. There are many problems to be addressed here, problems that create unnecessary hostility towards users. It no longer feels like I'm editing a "free" encyclopedia, with the constant biting of users, old and new alike. This place has become more restricted than ever before. All I see here is an authoritarian control being imposed on all, with peaceful editors few and far in between.
There are better things to do in real life, and important people that make a difference in how I feel and act. People that deserve more time, time that could be better spent with them, instead of the battleground this place has become. With great power comes a great responsibility, and misuse of this power to suppress others to gain an unfair advantage is not in the spirit of Wikipedia.
With this, I depart Wikipedia for the foreseeable future. I will lurk around here for a few more days, only and until all discussions I am involved in have concluded. I sincerely hope the project only improves over time, with a more vigilant eye on the actions of most privileged editors who seem to have most rules not apply to them.
Thank you, all, for bearing me for more than an year. Goodbye!
Sincerely,
Rollingcontributor (RoCo)
