Ghulam Rasul (1942-2009) Ghulam Rasul is well known for his impressions of Islamabad, its environs and the particular way of life of the area coloured by the austere beauty of the landscape and its nomadic heritage.
His paintings take their inspiration from a direct observation of nature. The use of a rich colour pallete brings a pictorial richness to his canvasses. The artist is famous for rustic scenes, urban settings with multi coloured kites interspersed in the sky, raindrops blurring the horizon, cattle out in the open fields etc. His paintings depict the endeavors in a life devoted to art that spanned over 40 years of love for his land and the landscape.
