Hi. I live in the Washington, DC area, and work part-time as a sports medicine physician at a college health center. Outside of medicine and sports, I can claim expertise on birds, restoring old bicycles, and losing money in the stock market. I enjoy researching and writing on other areas such as natural history and mystery writers. I initially stumbled upon Wikipedia while trying to ferret out the difference between the plaster we use to cast broken bones and the stuff which is flaking off the walls in my bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised by the easy to read (and usually accurate) articles I came across. Wikipedia appeals to me both as a means to disseminate knowledge and as a fun activity which satisfies my desire to "get things right". I got on board after some 340,000 articles were already out there, and missed out on a lot of the fun, but ...

I am proud of having done the bulk of the work to get the following articles elevated to "featured article" status:

Niagara Falls

Christmas

Space Race

Bicycle

and also helped to develop featured articles:

Weight training

Roe v Wade

Gangtok

I hope to feel similarly rewarded one day with the following articles to which I came late, but helped to navigate through the FAC gauntlet:

Atlanta, Georgia

Sleep
