After months of deliberation, I have decided to stop actively contributing to Wikipedia. I have realized that, even with the dedication of many contributors, Wikipedia simply cannot succeed in the long run, as I do not believe that it has the potential of becoming an equivalent of a professional encyclopedia. In fact, the majority of articles here are so neglected that I would even argue that they do not qualify to be personal blog posts, let alone "trustworthy" articles.
Though thousands actively improve Wikipedia on a daily basis, hundreds of thousands more actively destroy their work. Vandalism is so rampant that much of it is usually not detected for long periods of time (despite what many claim). I have other things that I have to do, and I cannot spend the rest of my life trying to improve something that simply can't work. Therefore, in conclusion, I would like to wish all Wikipedians good luck, as you will all need it.
