The pizza box is a cardboard box which transports the hot pizza through a pizza delivery or through entrainment from the pizzeria. The box must fulfill certain requirements, such as mechanical stability, stackability, thermal effect of insulation at simultaneous temperature, humidity control, suitability for foodstuffs and small cost. Shape and printing further allow for product identifications of pizza chains or independent advertising. The pizza box differs from the packaging of frozen pizza. The latter has the refrigerated product in welded foil and resembles the overpack of other frozen food.
