Hi Melcous,
I am updating the Port of San Francisco's page to add information about the Embarcadero Seawall. This is a huge project and there should be information about it online! I saw your note and tried to update the language so it felt purely educational and not promotional. If there is other language you'd like to see updated, let me know! It's a rock wall that has an interesting history - want to convey that history in a way that is appropriate.

Hi Melcous
I am responding to your message suggesting that I am what I think is called a "sock puppet." I want to explain my point of view regarding what is happening with the Cogewea Page. I am an American Literature Professor who has studied and taught Cogewea for many years. When I learned that the page had been taken over by an editor who is publishing incorrect and misleading information about this indigenous author, I decided to get involved. I admit I am new to Wikipedia and didn't understand all of the protocols. Yes, I decided to get involved with Wikipedia as an editor becuase of this issue, which is close to my heart, and I notified other scholars who also work on this novel to correct the misleading inormation that is now being posted to the article. I really thought this would be a good deed--getting people who actually know stuff to participate in wikipedia, of which I am an active user and to which I donate money regularly. Now that I understand the protocols more clearly I am taking steps to "confirm my account" by contributing to other articles that touch on topics on which I am knowledgable. I understand that by doing this I will be able to participate in editing the Cogewea page? I would like my account to be in good standing, and not flagged as engaged in something nefarious.
