Walter Gautschi (/ˈɡaʊ̯tʃi/; GOW-chee; born December 11, 1927) is a Swiss-born American mathematician, writer and professor emeritus of Computer science and Mathematics at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.[1] He is primarily known for his contributions to numerical analysis[2] and has authored over 200 papers in his area and published four books.
