The Community Wishlist Survey was an annual survey run by the Wikimedia Foundation's Community Tech team on meta:. It helped to identify the features and fixes that were most important to Wikimedia editors. Each year (from 2016 until 2023), contributors from all Wikimedia projects were invited to submit proposals for the Community Tech team.
The Community Tech team is focused on meeting the needs of active Wikimedia editors for improved, expert-focused curation and moderation tools. The creation of the Community Tech team is a direct outcome of requests from core contributors for improved support for moderation tools, bots, and the other features that help the Wikimedia projects succeed.
In July 2024, following a community consultation, the Community Tech team launched a new, continuous Community Wishlist.
