The 2018 Pacific hurricane season was one of the most active Pacific hurricane seasons on record, producing the highest accumulated cyclone energy value on record in the basin. The season had the fourth-highest number of named storms – 23. The season also featured eight landfalls, six of which occurred in Mexico. Hurricane Lane strengthened into a Category 5 hurricane and caused torrential rainfall in Hawaii during late August, becoming that state's wettest tropical cyclone on record and the second wettest tropical cyclone in United States history, only behind Hurricane Harvey of the previous year. In mid-September, Hurricane Olivia became the first tropical cyclone to make landfall on the islands of Maui and Lanai in recorded history. Shortly after, Tropical Depression Nineteen-E became the first tropical cyclone to form in the Gulf of California before it brought severe flooding to Sinaloa, Mexico, causing significant damage. Meanwhile, Hurricane Walaka attained Category 5 intensity before causing disruptions in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. In late October, Hurricane Willa became the record-tying third Category 5 hurricane of the season before striking Sinaloa as a major hurricane, causing severe destruction. Damage across the basin reached $1.46 billion (2018 USD), while 56 people were killed by the various storms.

Support Comment nice read of these detailed articles for this interesting topic, but I take issue with refs being in the lead of some of the Hurricane articles, especially when the content is not written out in the body thus not following the rule for lead info. Hurricane Bud (2018) is an example due to the lead sentence backed up by [1] only being present there when it should be written out and sourced in the body; however, these articles are thorough and very well-researched! --K. @Kyle Peake: This issue has been brought up in many of the FACs, but the reference was allowed for these articles as it was for a piece of introductory material relating the storm to the season. Leads usually don't have references in them, but that is neither prohibited or required. As for information in the lead, it almost always will be in the body but that isn't a strict rule, rather more of a suggestive guideline where we are allowed to make exceptions. Harry Styles is an English singer, songwriter, and actor. Formerly a member of one of the best-selling boy bands, One Direction, Styles emerged as a solo artist following the band's indefinite hiatus. He has since released two studio albums, Harry Styles (2017) and Fine Line (2019), both of which became commercially successful. His singles, "Sign of the Times" and "Watermelon Sugar" have topped the UK Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100 respectively. Styles has written tracks on both of his studio albums as well as for other artists. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including a Brit Award, a Grammy Award, and an American Music Award. Outside music, he has starred in Christopher Nolan's 2017 film, Dunkirk, and is known for his flamboyant fashion.
