History of de-adminship proposals/Old proposal is a page to request removal of Wikipedia administrator status, recipients of which were formerly known as "sysops" but nowadays known as "administrators". This process is almost always intensely controversial and participants on this page are expected to act with civility. Please read and understand the rules before proceeding.
Removal of administrator status carries no other consequence and is not permanent. A former administrator is still considered an editor in good standing, and may later be reinstated following a successful vote at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship.
