This Request for Comment has been opened in an attempt to clear up the confusion regarding how April Fools Day should and/or should not be celebrated here on Wikipedia. Anyone with an idea is welcome to make a suggestion. Anyone is welcome to comment on the existing suggestions.

- There is consensus for having April Fools DYKs be clever puns rather than poop jokes and sexual innuendos.
- There is consensus for tagging all jokes (excluding the main page) with the {{Humor}} template or a similar, April Fools-specific template.
- There is no consensus for an independent XfD log.
- There is no consensus for a mandatory pre-approval of April Fools jokes.
- There is consensus against banning all April Fools jokes.
- There is consensus against a ban on interference with non-harmful jokes.
- There is consensus against a ban on future RfCs about April Fools' Day.
- There is consensus against automatically blocking users that do April Fools pranks. Pranks in the mainspace are to be handled as vandalism is normally handled.
