The July 2013 Backlog elimination drive is a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on July 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on July 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goals are to copy edit all articles tagged in May and June 2012 and to complete all requests placed before the end of May. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits at least one article, and special awards will be given to the top five in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", "Number of articles of over 5,000 words", "Number of articles tagged in May and June 2012", and "Longest article". We hope to see you there!
From Sunday 16 June to Saturday 22 June, we held a Military History Blitz, in which we copy edited articles from WikiProject Military History. 15 of the 20 editors who signed up copy edited at least one article, and the overall blitz cleared about three dozen articles totaling over 50,000 words.
The June 2013 Copy Edit of the Month Contest is currently in the submissions stage. Submit your best June copy edit there before the end of the month. Submissions end, and discussion and voting begin, on July 1 at 00:00 (UTC).
Voting for Guild coordinators for the second half of 2013 has begun. Please voice your opinions. – Your drive coordinators: Torchiest, BDD, and Miniapolis.
