Guild of Copy Editors September 2013 backlog elimination drive wrap-up
Participation: Thanks to all who participated! Out of 36 people who signed up for this drive, 22 copy-edited at least one article. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here. All of the barnstars have been distributed to editors' Talk pages. Progress report: We cleared all 145 of the oldest articles from June and July 2012, and we saw the total number of articles in the queue decrease from 3186 to 3152. Great work! At the end of the drive, the backlogged articles spanned fourteen months. Copy Edit of the Month: Two editors won Gold awards in the July 2013 contest. Czar won for work on Gamal Abdel Nasser, and Jonesey95 won for work on Jeffrey Alfred Legum. Wilhelmina Will won the August 2013 contest for work on Freida Pinto. The September 2013 contest is closed for submissions and open for voting. The October 2013 contest is now open for submissions. Everyone is welcome to submit entries, ask questions, and vote. Blitz!: The October blitz will run from October 20–26, just two days from now. Our focus for this blitz will be articles that are part of WikiProject Film. Sign up, learn about a film you haven't seen — or improve an article for a film you love — and help out your fellow Wikipedians! – Your drive coordinators: Torchiest and Torchiest, Baffle gab1978 and Baffle gab1978, Jonesey95 and Jonesey95, and The Utahraptor and The Utahraptor To discontinue receiving GOCE newsletters, please remove your name from our mailing list.
