Welcome to the November 2015 edition of the Bugle!
This edition is brought to you by both the project coordinator team and Ian and Nick, who have recently returned from their holidays. Regular programming will return from next month!
TomStar has contributed two articles on the First World War: his timeline of events in November 1915, and an op-ed on the defeat of Serbia and the national Army's epic retreat in late 1915.
The regular article news section features a varied collection of new featured and A-class content, including three new featured pictures. Hawkeye has also reviewed a recently released book on the Battle of the Bulge.
As always, all editors are very welcome to contribute items for future editions. If you're interested in contributing, content can be posted directly in the Newsroom or by contacting either of the editors.
Your editors, Ian Rose (talk) and Nick-D (talk)
In memoriam |
Piotr Domaradzki, who edited Wikipedia as Belissarius and was a long-standing member of this project, passed away on 4 November. As well as playing an important role on the Polish-language Wikipedia, he made a wide range of contributions on military history articles on this Wikipedia between 2007 and September this year. Away from Wikipedia, he was a member of Poland's Solidarity movement and editor-in-chief of the Dziennik Związkowy (Polish Daily News) between 2009 and 2013. A short obituary of Belissarius is available here, and editors can leave condolences on the Polish-language Wikipedia.
