From the editors

Welcome to the ninth Bugle edition for 2019!

The article news section features yet another bumper crop of newly promoted high quality articles: a whopping twenty A-class articles and ten featured articles. Congratulations to Bryanrutherford0 for earning his first A-Class Medal for his work on our coverage of the Silesian Wars. Thanks to Kges1901 for assistance with the article summaries, and Adam Cuerden for handling the new featured pictures.

The book review section includes an assessment by Nick-D of a disappointing work on the legacy of World War II, as well as a wrap-up of recent reviews published elsewhere.

Close on the heels of Bugle co-editor Ian Rose reaching 80 Featured Articles in July, Sturmvogel 66 achieved that total in August, and is currently in equal fourth position across the whole of English Wikipedia alongside Ian. Well done! Parsecboy is not far behind, having reached 75 FAs last month, and is in sixth place overall. In reviewing news, Peacemaker67 recently reviewed his 250th Good Article nomination, Vami IV recently completed his 150th GAN review, and Zawed passing 100 GANs reviewed. Thanks to everyone who contributes to our prodigious throughput of quality content.

Our September edit-a-thon Backlog Banzai is charging ahead, with nearly thirty editors contributing so far, and thousands of jobs already ticked off. We are making a big dent in the backlogs, keep it going!

Finally, voting commenced for the coordinator election at 00:01 (UTC) on 15 September. You can watchlist the election page here and have your say on who should be part of the coord team for the next year.

Another top effort! Thanks to the co-editors and the helpers for putting together this bumper issue. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 09:25, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A bit of a nitpick, but I have 76 FAs as of the end of the month, FLs aren't included in that tally (I've got 17 of those). Parsecboy (talk) 13:35, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Quite right, my mistake. Fixed. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 22:39, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
