| Frequently asked questions
- Q: Where can I post queries on Pipe organ related pages?
- A: You can post queries either on the WikiProject PipeOrgan talk page, or on the talk page of the relevant article. Provided that the talk page includes the project banner, {{PipeOrgan-project-page}}, the talk pages can be patrolled by editors using the Recent changes (talk pages) tool.
- Q: Into which categories should an article about an organist be placed?
- A: Organists should never be placed in Category:Organists. Rather, in the relevant national and genre subcategory - e.g. Category:American classical organists. If the category doesn't exist, please create it (follow the example of existing categories if you're not sure) or ask for help on our talk page. Please make a note of any new categories you create on the mainpage.
- If they are a church musician, consider also placing them in Category:Cathedral organists if appropriate. These categories are not further sub-divided by nationality.
- If they are also an improviser, place them in Category:Organ improvisers.
- The same principles apply for non-classical organists, although these musicians may not be within the scope of the project, and they may be better classified as keyboardists. Please place them in the appropriate national / genre subcategory - ask for help on the project talk page if you're unsure.
- Q: Should I replace {{Keyboardist-stub}} with {{organist-stub}}?
- A: Maybe. Organist stubs should be marked with {{organist-stub}} but if they are known for playing other keyboard instruments, it could be used in addition to (rather than in place of) {{Keyboardist-stub}}.
