This week's Featured content includes the first of an occasional series of interviews with featured-content creators. It appears beneath our regular sections.
A new featured picture taken just eight weeks ago by Wikimedian Muhammad Mahdi Karim in Mikumi National Park , Tanzania, east Africa. This grand beast—a female African Bush elephant—is the largest living terrestrial animal. Civility warning: it weighs 6,000–9,000 kg and can reach a top speed of 40 kilometres per hour (25 mph) when irritated. (The photograph, and that of the Impala below, was supported by an equipment grant from the Swiss Chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation .)
