A new featured picture taken just eight weeks ago by Wikimedian Muhammad Mahdi Karim in Mikumi National Park, Tanzania, east Africa. This grand beast—a female African Bush elephant—is the largest living terrestrial animal. Civility warning: it weighs 6,000–9,000 kg and can reach a top speed of 40 kilometres per hour (25 mph) when irritated.
