Vchimpanzee, from my reading on the subject, I found that West Point has at times referred to tuition being on a "scholarship" basis. Everyone has a "scholarship" if they make the non-monetary but very significant service commitment. Carson could have worded it better, but the breezy narrative of his book, writing when the idea he would run for President and be a party front-runner some day was ridiculous (and still is!), brushes over details.--Milowent • hasspoken14:25, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
