Does anyone know the name of the the type of Jewellery the woman in the Community pick is wearing?©Geni (talk) 08:26, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A generic term is beadwork, which also covers other styles from around the world. The type of traditional beadwork in the picture is popular among the Maasai and the related Samburu. It is also called beaded jewelry or bead jewelry, as in "Maasai bead jewelry".  --Lambiam 14:49, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting but I wasn't so much looking for the method of manufacture but the term for a chain hung across the forehead.©Geni (talk) 17:46, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure there is an English name, the British Museum refers to something in the same class as a "forehead-ornament",[1] and I suppose it is a species of headband. It is very likely there are names in other languages, for example, Greek, as this type of ornament was traditional there.[2] All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 20:43, 25 February 2016 (UTC).[reply]
