Witchcraft in early modern Wales

Unlike in neighbouring England and in Scotland, there were few accusations of witchcraft (Welsh: dewiniaeth) or witch trials in Wales in the early modern period (the 16th to mid-18th century), and most of the accused were acquitted. Only five people were executed in Wales for witchcraft during this period.[1]
