Wolfgang Benz (born 9 June 1941) is a German historian and anti-semitism researcher from Ellwangen. He was the director of the Center for Research on Antisemitism of the Technische Universität Berlin between 1990 and 2011,[1] and is also a member of the advisory board for the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and was involved in the memorial's design.[2][3] He has written or published over 200 works.[4] He is considered to be one of the most renowned and well-known historians in modern Germany, and one of the foremost scholars on anti-semitism studies.[5][6][1][7][8] He has been referred to as the "doyen" of anti-semitism research.[1]
