The 1937 Pittsburgh Panthers football team represented the University of Pittsburgh in the 1937 college football season. In its 14th season under head coach Jock Sutherland, the team compiled a 9–0–1 record, shut out six of its ten opponents, and outscored all opponents by a total of 203 to 34.[1] The team played its home games at Pitt Stadium in Pittsburgh. The Panthers were crowned national champions by the final AP Poll, which was released in late November, and by most NCAA-designated major selectors.[2]
Pitt was also awarded the Lambert-Meadowlands Trophy as the champion of the East. An invitation to the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day was declined.
