The 1940 Loyola Lions football team was an American football team that represented Loyola University of Los Angeles (now known as Loyola Marymount University) as an independent during the 1940 college football season. In their first season under head coach Marty Brill, the Lions compiled a 3–7 record.[1]

Loyola was ranked at No. 135 (out of 697 college football teams) in the final rankings under the Litkenhous Difference by Score system for 1940.[2]
