The 1949 Tampa Spartans football team represented the University of Tampa as a member of the Dixie Conference during the 1949 college football season. Led by Mike Gaddis in his second and final season as head coach, the Spartans compiled an overall record of 0–8 with a mark of 0–2 in conference play, placing fifth in the Dixie Conference. Tampa employed the T formation on offense.[1] The team played home games at Phillips Field in Tampa, Florida.
