Rankings from AP Poll

The 1991 Arkansas Razorbacks football team represented the University of Arkansas during the 1991 NCAA Division I-A football season. Jack Crowe's team improved from a 3–8 record in 1990 to become bowl eligible again in 1991. Punter Pete Raether finished third in the nation in punting average, with 43.6 yards per boot. On the other side of the ball, punt returner Michael James averaged 14.3 yards per return, seventh in the nation.

This season ended Arkansas' tenure in the Southwest Conference, a league they had been a part of since 1915. The SWC's reputation had been badly tarnished over the previous decade as the conference had seen every team except Arkansas, Rice, and Baylor hit with sanctions or recruiting scandals in the 1980s (including SMU's "Death penalty" in 1987). The conference would finally be dissolved after the 1996-97 school year, with Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech all joining the Big 8 Conference, which would be renamed the Big XII Conference. The Razorbacks moved to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) beginning in the 1992-93 school year along with the South Carolina Gamecocks.

A knee injury to starting QB Jason Allen in the second half of the Baylor game would hamper Arkansas' ability to move the football offensively. The Razorbacks would lose four of their final five games, to include a loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in the 1991 Independence Bowl, finishing 6-6. However, the Hogs would enjoy a victory over their arch-rival Texas in Little Rock, 14-13, in their final meeting as SWC opponents.
