The 8th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards was held on May 20, 1995, at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.[1] Whitney Houston was the host.[2] Over twenty-six million kids participated in the voting.[1] This is the first show to be held at the Barker Hangar in California. This was also the first time that the show had a bigger budget than the previous years with the stage taking on the theme of an airport (fitting since the Barker Hangar is also part of the Santa Monica Airport)
