The 2001 Baylor Bears football team (variously "Baylor", "BU", or the "Bears") represented Baylor University in the 2001 NCAA Division I-A football season. They were represented in the Big 12 Conference in the South Division. They played their home games at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco, Texas. They were coached by head coach Kevin Steele. The final game of the season versus S. Illinois was a make up game for the originally scheduled game on Sept 15th vs the Minnesota Golden Gophers, which was cancelled due to the events of Sept 11th, 2001.
