Give The Slip well clear at the 200 meter mark though down the outside is Ethereal starting to close. Give The Slip with Ethereal coming home. Give The Slip in front Ethereal's coming hard, the Caulfield Cup winner's grabbed the lead and Ethereal does the double!

The 2001 Melbourne Cup was the 141st running of the Melbourne Cup, a prestigious Australian Thoroughbred horse race. The race, run over 3,200 metres (1.988 mi), was held on 6 November 2001 at Melbourne's Flemington Racecourse.
It was won by Ethereal, trained by Sheila Laxon and ridden by Scott Seamer.[2]
