The 2005 New York Giants season was the franchise's 81st season in the National Football League (NFL) and their second under head coach Tom Coughlin. The Giants finished the regular season with an 11–5 record and won the NFC East for the first time since 2000 and made the playoffs for the first time since 2002. However, they would be shut out at home by the Carolina Panthers 23–0 in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
