Local elections were held in Majayjay on Monday, May 9, 2016, as a part of the 2016 Philippine general election. Voters will select candidates for all local positions: a town mayor, vice mayor and town councilors, as well as members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, a governor, a vice governor and a representative for the province's fourth congressional district to the House of Representatives. Those elected took their respective offices on June 30, 2016, for a three-year-long term. 14,693 of 17,074 registered voters voted in this election.^[1]
